RACE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
The 2008 Colorado Dragon Boat Festival (CDBF) will be held July 26-27, at Sloan’s Lake, Denver.
It is essential that two contacts be specified during registration, and that phone numbers and e-mail addresses be entered for each. Team contacts will receive an invite to the race committee's Yahoo! group. The Yahoo! group will be the primary method of communication, so contacts must join and participate in this group.It is the team contact's responsibility to convey any information to whom it may concern.
Entry Fee
The 2008 entry fee is $800 for adult, $500 for youth.

The check must be received by the Registrar within seven business days (Sundays not included) of the on-line registration. Confirmation of receipt of the check will be acknowledged via e-mail to the contacts listed on the entry form. Failure to submit the entry fee within seven business days will result in the team being placed on the wait list.
Credit Card
After filling out the registration form, you may pay via credit card by completing the credit card payment form. We accept DISCOVER, VISA and MASTER CARD. Upon acceptance of the credit card information, confirmation of the payment will be acknowledged via e-mail to the contacts listed on the registration form.
NOTE: The first teams to apply AND submit their entry fee will be in the race. Teams that fully register after the division team rosters have been filled will be placed on a waiting list and will be in line to compete in case any of the division teams cannot race. Consideration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Racing fee must be received within seven business days after submission of this registration in order to insure a place on the team roster. If the fee is not received within the specified period, the application will be kept on file until the fee is received (at which time, the team will fill the next available roster position), or until such time as all the race places are filled.
Team Composition
Adults must be at least 18 years old, as of July 26, 2008. Each team will consist of a minimum of 20 people: 18 paddlers (which must include 8 females if mixed division), 1 drummer, and 1 flag catcher for the Novice and Youth divisions. A team may have with 21 racers if their steersperson is approved (Competitive teams must supply or arrange for their own steersperson). It is highly recommended that each team also has four substitutes or alternates, in case any of the original 20 or 21 are unable to race.
Policy on Abbreviated or Canceled Races
The CDBF and the Race Committee shall strive to provide a complete race event, culminating with awards and recognition of teams which have demonstrated their team work and accomplishments by finishing ahead of their competitors. Situations may occur wherein the race event cannot be completed in spite of the best efforts of CDBF staff, the Race Committee, and Safety Personnel. If conditions exist where, in the judgment of the Race Committee and/or Safety Personnel, the race event cannot be held or continued, and the races have not progressed to the point where teams can clearly be identified as winners in their respective brackets, medals and trophies will not be awarded, and teams or sponsoring organizations are not entitled to refund of race entry fees.
Withdrawing from Competition
A paid team having to withdraw from the race will receive a refund according to the following schedule:
Full refund upon withdrawal by May 1;
50% refund upon withdrawal between May 2 - May 31;
25% refund upon withdrawal between June 1 - June 30;
no refund after June 30.
