We want everyone to come out all weekend and stay all day. You'll have the best time at the festival by following these simple guidelines to ensure everyone’s enjoyment and safety:

GUIDELINES

Drink plenty of fluids. If you’re feeling thirsty, immediately find shade and drink water. If you’re feeling faint, our onsite EMTs are here to help.
Use sunscreen and wear a hat. Block out those harmful UV rays and buy a souvenir hat in our Marketplace or Festival Merchandise booth.
Don’t go swimming or wading. It’s against the law at the lake and it’s for your own safety.
Don’t pitch a tent or bring your grill. We’ve designed the festival with the best visibility possible and with amazing choices in food. Enjoy the shade from trees and the cuisine from our food vendors instead.
Leave your pets at home. Our crowds are too large and the weather too hot to risk losing, injuring or stressing your precious pets at the park.
Alcoholic beverages must be purchased and consumed onsite in the Miller/Coors Beer Garden. None may be brought onto the festival grounds. Please do not drink and drive, drink and pedal, or drink and scoot. We want you back next year!
Smoking is not permitted within any tent, structure, or in any seating area on the festival site. The park is big, so please light up elsewhere.
Bicycles, skateboards and in-line skates are allowed in the park but not on festival grounds. Park your bike at the bike corrals or walk.
All packages are subject to search. Please no glass containers, large placards, fliers or signs on festival grounds. These will be confiscated.
Please pick up after yourself. The Sloan’s Lake neighbothood is a beautiful area. Help us leave the park and surrounding areas clean by recycling your items in designated containers and using trash cans.
Lost and Found. Please report any missing items/people, or bring found items/people, to Volunteer Headquarters at the entrance.
Vuvuzelas are allowed -- the more excitement and cheering for the dragon boat races, the better!

Traffic Plan

Here are this year’s street closures and related arrangements. The festival has consulted with and received approval from the Denver Traffic Engineers and Public Works Departments, the Denver Police and Fire Departments for a plan that emphasizes ‘safety’ to help manage and minimize vehicle traffic in your neighborhood.

To allow quick and safe access for emergency vehicles during the weekend, the Denver Fire Department has required “No Parking” areas for these streets: Zenobia, Yates, Xavier, Wolff, Oak and Winona. Other major streets on the map are designated as “Road Closed,” “Road Closed to Thru Traffic,” or “Road Closed – Local Traffic Only.

Off-duty officers and security guards will be on hand to support this traffic plan. However, our Denver law enforcement team cannot distinguish between the cars of residents and those of festival attendees. Therefore, we graciously ask that neighborhood residents park in your garages, behind your homes as permitted or outside of these parking perimeters.

Alternative Transportation

If you drive to the festival, we have worked with the local community to identify designated parking areas south and west of the park for the public to use.

We also are offering our on-site bike corral (two locations marked on the Festival Site Map), to encourage people to cycle to the event, RTD public bus information and carpool parking areas - as part of our continued “Greening the Dragon” Initiative.

  • BikeDenver returns for its third year, providing two bike racks and monitored storage of bikes for a public donation. Bike route and access information can be found on the BikeDenver website at www.BikeDenver.org, as well as on these websites:

  • Don’t fuss – take the bus! Public transit is available through RTD bus routes (#31, 51, 16, 20, 28, and 32) or light rail to INVESCO, transferring to Bus #16 or 20 to Sloan’s Lake Park on the weekend. Visit www.rtd-denver.com for times and exact stops or phone: 303-299-6000.
