Cultural Unity
One of the most popular areas we've added over the years is our Cultural Unity Stage, where young people flock to share their skill at the street styles of hip-hop dance and spoken word performances.
What? Not Asian, you say? Au contraire!
If you watch any season of MTV's "America Best Dance Crew, you'll be amazed that some of the best dancing every year is by groups that feature many or all Asian Americans. We've found our groove, and you can find yours at the Cultural Unity stage!
Jared Peters, the chair of the Cultural Unity stage, says his theme for the 2010 stage is “Understanding the past in order to know our future." Jared adds, "This year’s theme will reflect different multi-cultural traditions of the past, to help understand the direction of our future generations...."
