Kalama Polynesian Dancers/Hālau Kalama
5:30 PMKalama Polynesian Dancers have been performing in CO since 2007 and for many years at the Colorado Dragon Boat. This is also the 18th year of the Nonprofit Hālau Kalama. We specialize in performing and teaching Polynesian Dance which are the dances from the islands of Hawai’i, New Zealand, Samoa, and Tahiti. We also teach Tahitian Drumming and Samoan Fire Knife Dance. Our dance studio is located @ 1732 S Chambers Rd in Aurora CO and we teach kids 3 years and up and adults. Our open enrollment is from July until October 1st. We want to say thank you so much to all of the students, families, community, and Colorado Dragon Boat for supporting us through the years. Mahalo!

ARCINDA (The Arts and Culture of Indonesia)
6:30 PM"Performing JAVANESE GAMELAN: an Indonesian Brass Xylophone percussion, in collaboration with other Indonesian culture from different regions (Makassar, Sunda, Jakarta) and in collaboration with modern music (piano, violin, clarinet), they will be played together with a modern band. Arcinda gets rewarded to perform annually at Denver Art Museum and Public Libraries. Arcinda also receives grants from Folk Traditional Arts, Colorado Creative Industry (CCI), AICEF (American Indonesian Cultural Education Foundation) and Fort Fund, for cultural excellence.

7:00 PMChinese Culture Studio is dedicated to preserving and sharing the richness of Chinese heritage through performance and education. Our repertoire highlights traditional martial arts such as Mulan Boxing and Tai Chi, as well as cultural presentations like the elegant Cheongsam Dance. Each performance embodies the beauty, discipline, and artistry of Chinese culture, offering audiences an authentic experience that honors centuries of tradition.
Chinese Gourd Flute
7:30 PMJimmy Lu is a high school student. He is a saxophone and hulusi player. Hulusi is known as the gourd flute in the United States. It is a traditional Chinese instrument with 2000 years of history. The gourd flute has a unique sound that is both haunting and expressive. It is very pure, smooth and mellow. With clarinet-like sound, it is a specular ornate musical instrument. Jimmy has been teaching this voluntarily since 2022 at Bohua Chinese School in Boulder. His students’ ages range from as little as 6 years old. They have done almost more than 30 performances in Boulder and Denver area in the past two years. They participated in the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival in 2023 and 2024, and the audiences liked their performances.
