Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Pualani is a young Kānaka Maoli professional. She received her Bachelorʻs degree from the University of Denver in 2022 and moved home to work as a Legislative Analyst at the Hawaii State Capitol for House Representative Mahina Poepoe. Having grown up dancing hula and attending Kamehameha Schools, Pualani is passionate about uplifting her culture in creative and professional spaces. She has a strong interest in Indigenous peoples and currently covers tribal relations at BLM Colorado. In her free time, Pualani enjoys delving into a thick paperback or working on her latest poetry or fiction project. One of the things she misses most about home is the food, since Hawaiʻi has the best fish. Pualani aims to build out her professional skill set so that she can eventually move home and find work within her community.
