Volunteer Days

Saturday- July 27th, 2024
Sunday- July 28th, 2024

Volunteer Time Blocks

We ask all volunteers to show up 30 minutes prior to their shifts to ensure a seamless transition between time blocks. If you are able to volunteer for multiple time blocks, that would help the festival greatly!

Morning: 9am - noon
Lunch: 12pm - 3pm
Afternoon: 3pm - 6pm
​Evening: 5pm - 7pm on Saturday Only

Race Crew Time Blocks:
Race Morning, Saturday Only: 8am - 10am
Race Morning, Sunday Only: 8am - 11am
Race Early Afternoon: 12pm - 2pm
Race Late Afternoon: 2pm - 4pm
Race Evening, Saturday Only: 4pm - 6pm

Volunteer Areas

FESTIVAL AMBASSADOR (BOOTH OR ROVER)

Represent the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival at our info booths, volunteer entrances, and greet festival attendees as they're arriving! Must be upbeat, outgoing, personable, and organized. This role may involve walking throughout the event and being available to promptly respond to questions from festival goers as they arise.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering questions from festival guests and ensuring they have a great experience

  • Administering attendee surveys to gather information that helps fund and support the festival

  • ​Directing festival attendees to key festival points (lost and found, restrooms, food courts, stages, etc.)

PERFORMANCE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Want the best seat in the house? Are you organized and able to help people keep to a schedule? Assist our Stage Coordinator in ensuring flawless performances by supporting backstage activities and performers.

ART DEMO FACILITATORS & ACTIVATION SUPPORT SPECIALIST

This enchanted area is a haven for art demonstrations and booths, offering engaging activities for both kids and adults. You'll be instrumental in supporting the diverse range of artistic expressions, ensuring a magical experience for all attendees. Dive into a world of colors, crafts, and imagination, and help make Dragon Land a hub of creativity and joy for our visitors.

VOLUNTEER CONCIERGE

This is where all the volunteer action starts! Volunteers at our HQ tent will be responsible for supporting our Volunteer Coordinators and Field Lead by directing both the public and our festival area volunteers. Our HQ Team will be assigned to one or more of the following positions:

  • Volunteer Check-In, General Public questions

  • Area Escorts - Will direct volunteers/performers to their designated areas

  • Festival attendee general assistance​

SOCIAL MEDIA AMBASSADOR

Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok expert? We need you! Show up for your shift with a camera phone, and we'll give you a list of festival areas/items to snap photos of and official hashtags to use. Feel free to add your own hashtags as well! This is a great position for social media experts who want to help us share the festival experience with our online followers! Not following @COdragonboat on social yet?! Follow us today!

FESTIVAL TRANSIT NAVIGATOR

As a Festival Transit Navigator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth parking and transportation operations at either or Sloan’s Lake location or our offsite location on Auraria Campus. Stationed strategically, you will assist visitors by providing clear directions and guidance, acting as a friendly and helpful point of contact. Your responsibilities include directing traffic, managing parking logistics, and answering inquiries to enhance the overall visitor experience. Join our team and be a vital part of creating a seamless and welcoming environment for all event attendees.

This role includes managing on-site parking as well as a specific offsite location at Auraria Campus, where your friendly and informative assistance will contribute to seamless event navigation for all attendees. Join us in creating a positive and welcoming environment for our visitors!

DRAGON BOAT RACE CREW

Be part of the dynamic Dragon Boat Race Crew, contributing to the success of the racing experience. Roles include Timing Tent Support, Kayak Crew, Loading and Staging Assistant, Registration Tent Support, and Team Runners. Join us in orchestrating an exciting and well-coordinated dragon boat event!
