Practice Schedule Requirements

  1. Decide on your type of boat: Flag Catcher or Hong Kong (we recommend it be the same as your registered division for CDBF)

  2. Decide on your practice location: Sloan’s Lake, Denver or Mann-Nyholt Lake, Brighton

  3. Review available time slots: Review the calendar below to see available time slots. If time slots are not posted below, please provide a two additional dates and times and club will work with you to match your time.

  4. Request a time slot: Use the form below to request a practice for your team. Once submitted, please allow up to 48 hours for a response.

  5. Confirmation: Once your practice has been approved, you will receive an email and a calendar invite to reflect the scheduled practice.

  6. To respect the times of coaches and sterns, please reserve your practice at least 48 hours prior.

  7. Please include minimum one back up day and time in the comments in case your original time is full.

**Note: If you do not see a time that works for your team, fill out the form and we will work with you on making exceptions. If your team is registered to race at the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, your first practice fee will be waived. For questions, please reach out to us using at

A-La-Carte Practice Pricing

If you are not a club registered team, A-La-Carte practice pricing can be found below. And remember, if you are registered for the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, your first practice is included as part of your registration.

  • Race Club Membership - $1000/team includes up to 3 practices per week based on stern availability (coach & steer not included)

  • Regatta Entry - $200/team

  • Full Additional Practice (Coach + Stern + Practice) - $300

  • Additional Practice w/o Coach or Stern - $200/practice

  • Coach for Practice - $50/practice

  • Steer for Practice - $50/practice

Please note that fees for hiring a coach and stern are purely to cover the cost of paying club coaches and sterns for their time. Availability is subject to change based on resources.
